Literate today means not only the ability to read and write, but also possessing a fluency in online technologies including searching resources on the Internet and the World Wide Web, sending email, and other online tools. This seminar provides a brief introduction the Internet and Web technologies for beginners. Topics include the history, organizing and searching information, e-commerce and e-business, communication on the Internet, and the social impact. The seminar will guide students to a better understanding and use of the Internet and the World Wide Web.
Professor Jianwen Su, Computer Science, research areas of interest are data and information management, database languages, web services, software analysis, and verification. He teaches courses in databases, data structure and algorithms, machine learning, and web services.
