According to the famous science-fiction writer H.G. Wells (1866-1946), “Statistical thinking will one day be as necessary a qualification for efficient citizenship as the ability to read and write”. That day has come! Whether you subscribe to the view that there are lies, damned lies and statistics or not, statistics will almost certainly be part of your undergraduate career. Interested in finding out what America is doing to help AIDS sufferers in Haiti? Want to know how and why are polls conducted? Ever wondered if scientists fake their results? If so, this is the course for you!
