We will study the history of the Holocaust (Shoa) with a focus on attempting to understand what enables some people to act with courage and integrity, even under extreme threats to their own well-being. Students will read an account of how a young woman in the Netherlands resisted the Nazis.
Professor Julian Weissglass, Education, is Director of the National Coalition for Equity in Education and has taught courses on race and racism in U.S. education and on organizational change and development. His major areas of research are how racism and classism and other forms of bias affect teaching and learning and how to develop leadership to work for educational equity.
