INT94KN: Protect Your Brain

Day: Mondays
Time: 3:00-3:50 p.m.
Location: Girvetz 1108

Enrollment Code: 26369

Description:
The purpose of this class is to acquaint students with some of the broad findings of cognitive neuroscience and to give them opportunities to experience some of the diagnostic tools that are used to assess neurological deficits. There is an underlying message as well. Students of this age tend to engage in behaviors that place their brains at risk. It is hoped that by indirectly introducing the relationship between certain behaviors (e.g., driving, talking on cell phones; snowboarding without a helmet, etc.) and brain damage, that students will be more thoughtful about some of their behaviors.

Professor Russell Revlin, Psychology, is a cognitive psychologist, researching the area of human reasoning. This work uses both standard experimental procedures and neuro- imaging techniques.
