Description:
The course will examine the ongoing transformation of Black Los Angeles from the settlement of the city to present.
Professor Clyde Woods, Black Studies, area of specialty is the study of African American regional history, culture and public policy. Among the places studied are the Mississippi Delta and Southern California. Also, he is a student of US urban history. Other areas of interest include race and public policy and the Blues and Hip Hop studies.
