Description:
Is Earth the only place in the universe where life appeared? This seminar will explore the emerging field of astrobiology. Astrobiology is the study and search for life, past and present, in the universe. It includes such topics as the origin of life, the search for extraterrestrial intelligent life, and the future of life on Earth and in the universe.
Professor Stanley Awramik, Earth Science, is a paleobiologist who studies the early history of life on Earth. He has taught History of Life, Historical Geology, as well as advanced courses in the Earth sciences.
