Description:
The seminar examines the theories about and emerging ways religion is expressed
in alternate, non-“first life” media. How do science fiction, television and virtual
realities change or challenge how we receive, participate and understand religious
beliefs and practices?
Professor Rudy Busto, Religious Studies, his work focuses on American religion with an emphasis on race and religion. He teaches a course on religion and science fiction and recently completed an article on race and religion in Season One of the TV drama “Heroes”.
