Description:
This seminar will be part of the 2007-2008 Critical Issues Series on race, place
and power. We will study the causes and consequences of residential segregation,
environmental racism, and educational inequality in conjunctions with the
lectures, panel discussions, and films presented through the Critical Issues Series.
Professor George Lipsitz, Black Studies, his research revolves around the ways in which opportunities and life chances in U.S. society are influenced by racism. He teaches courses on the civil rights movement, housing and inheritance, and space and expressive culture.
