Description:
This seminar will focus on the effects that club drugs have on brain function
that result in the change in behavior, called addiction. Students will become
familiar with the mechanisms of action of popular club drugs and the
short-and long- term consequences of these drugs on brain function.
Professor Karen Szumlinski, Psychology, research interests include the neurobiology of addiction and schizophrenia. She has taught Psych 3 (Biological Basis and Behavior) and Psych 115/215 (neuropharmacology).
