Description:
This seminar is an introduction to the study of religion based on the role
food plays in myths and rituals. Attention will be given to the place of food in
religions of hunting and gathering people and in Judaism, Christianity and
Islam.
Professor Juan Campo, Religious Studies, teaches Introduction to the Study of Religion, Islamic Mysticism & Religious Thought, and, The Arabic Qur’an. His current research interests include the comparative study of pilgrimages in modernity, and shared Muslim/Hindu religious sites.
