More students than ever are studying abroad. In this seminar we’ll explore
the reasons for this, what’s involved in an extended time of living and
studying in a foreign culture, and the demands of adapting to another
culture. Which students should study abroad, which shouldn’t? UC’s
Education Abroad Program will be an inevitable focus of our explorations,
but we’ll look at other ways students study abroad as well.
Professor William Ashby, is a Professor emeritus of French. He is currently serving as Interim Director of the UCSB office of the Education Abroad Program.
